Growing a rainbow baby: 19 weeks pregnant

How big is Baby Button-Nose this week?

Baby BN is about as large as an heirloom tomato and weighs 240g. (Length: 15.3cm, head to bottom.)

Since getting my first bout of acid reflux last week, I’ve had it a few more times this week. Again, it wasn’t too bad and Rennies seemed to do the trick but it’s never a pleasant feeling. It feels like there’s a little fire at the bottom of my throat!

Sore boobs as per usual.

I had a random moment of nausea yesterday (Sunday 3rd July) which took me surprise as it’s been a while since I’ve been/or felt sick. I was halfway through eating my dinner (slow cooked gammon + veg) when my brain suddenly decided that the carrot I was chewing was the most disgusting thing ever. I was so close to puking but after running into the garden to get some fresh air and sipping some water, I somehow managed to get through it without being sick. I couldn’t eat anymore of my dinner after, though!

Mostly OK. Although I felt like a horrible, hormonal-cow at the weekend. I normally have a pretty good handle on my emotions but I certainly haven’t felt that way over the last few days.

Highlight of the week:

Stephen got my old maternity clothes down from the loft last night (and they’re currently hanging on the washing line to dry). They were all mixed up in the bags of Jasmine’s old baby clothes so I spent a lot of time going through it all and asking myself how she was ever that small?! It made me feel excited to have a tiny baby again.

A lot of my maternity clothes are out of season at the moment so I’ll need a few more summer bits but I am very happy to be reunited with my favourite comfy maternity jeans. ❤ ❤

I also got to meet a couple more of my Facebook bump buddies this week. We met up for a midweek cake and chat session so that was nice. Some of them are about ready to pop too which is muchos exciting!

Food cravings:

Oreos! They were mentioned on a programme I was watching in bed one night. I then couldn’t stop thinking about Oreos. Stephen bought me some the next day which made me very happy indeed!

Food aversions:

Carrots, it would seem!

Things I’m missing:

My back pain is often at it’s worst when I’m laying in bed, trying to get comfortable. It’s when I turn from laying on my back to on my left side (which is how I prefer to sleep) that I get the shooting pain down my back, bum and legs. That said, my sleep has been pretty good lately – can’t complain!

Pregnancy/baby related purchases:

I’ve actually bought some baby stuff this week – hurrah! I had an incredible gNappies discount code (50% off) so I went a bit mad and bought 6 gNappies in a size small and another 6 in a medium – plus two packets of liners. I used gNappies occasionally with Jasmine (I only owned two of them) and really liked them so I’m excited to able use them ‘full time’ with Baby Button Nose.

I also picked up a basic black maternity t-shirt (below) from Peacocks. I think it was about £6 and it was a day when they had 20% off everything. I wish I’d picked up a few more in some other colours but I had to rush off to catch my bus home from town. I might grab a few more this week though. :)

That’s all for this week – roll on Friday (8th July) when I have my 20 week anomaly scan! I’ve been so anxious lately, I’m desperate to know that my little Button Nose is OK.

I hope the scan goes well, they are so exciting but so nerve-wrecking at the same time. Oreos is probably the best craving every and yey for maternity jeans!! Why can’t all jeans be that comfy? I’m glad it is all still going well and I would love to tell you the emotions calm down but I don’t think mine have ever been the same since having the twins, my husband would definitely agree! xx

Thanks, Hayley. I thought this week was going to drag because our scan is tomorrow (Friday) but it’s actually flown by and I can’t believe we’ll be seeing our baby again tomorrow. I know, right? Oreos and milk are the best and I still can’t get enough of ’em. I will probably end up living in my maternity jeans for a good chunk of baby’s first year – as I did after Jasmine was born – they’re just too comfy to give up! Haha, our poor husbands definitely bear the brunt of our crazy hormones, eh? xx
