Every weekend we try to get out and explore somewhere new, as a family. We love being outdoors and if we can take the dog along with us on our adventures, so much the better. We recently heard about Needham Lake by word of mouth and decided that this weekend, as the sun was shining, we’d head there for an Autumnal family walk. Located next to Needham Market train station, it’s about a 20 minute drive from us. Dogs are welcome (thumbs up from Heidi…if she had thumbs) and there’s toilets onsite (thumbs up from me and my tiny bladder).
We didn’t really know what to expect, other than a lake obviously! When we arrived I was pleasantly surprised. There is a buggy-friendly footpath around the whole of the lake, plus a woodland nature reserve, a couple of children’s parks and a snack bar.
Here’s some photos from our time at Needham Lake…
The sight that greeted us when we first arrived – not bad, eh?
The weather was perfect for our Autumn walk – beautiful clear blue skies.
There were lots of birds at Needham Lake including gulls…
…and geese. This was as close as I was willing to get to this chap!
A rare mummy and daughter photo (that isn’t a selfie)!
Jasmine taking in the view of the lake.
I know I say it a lot on my blog but I really do LOVE this time of year!
My man and my dog. ❤❤❤
I loved the wooden mushroom carvings – how sweet!
Jasmine went on a swing for the first time a couple of weeks ago and really wasn’t sure about it. This time she couldn’t get enough of it – she was giggling and squealing with delight. Made me melt!
As you can probably tell, we had such a lovely time. If you live in Suffolk or surrounding areas, I highly recommend giving Needham Lake a visit.
Here’s the address:
It’s open all year round.
